Kantarama Gahigiri is a Rwandan writer/director. She is an alumna of Realness Residency (2018), La Fabrique Cinéma at Cannes FF (2019), Le Moulin d’Andé (2020), and Berlinale Talents (2021). As of today, Kantarama pursues her passion immersed in an exploration of identity, migration, and on-screen representation with her recent projects.

Best Short Documentary Award  (Poulain d’Or) at FESPACO 2021, screened in competition at Chicago IFF (2020), Namur IFF (2021),  Clermont-Ferrand (2020) and features in the program Quartiers Lointains Season 6 : Afrofuturistik.  Tapis Rouge, feature film (co-written, co-directed) about immigration and integration in Switzerland,  awarded Best Director at Chelsea Film Festival and Best Feature by TV5Monde, followed by a theatrical  release in Switzerland and in France (2017).
