The 2024 edition of the DFM will spotlight key elements within the film industry that include social responsibility and accountability in filmmaking, IP protection, artist/filmmaker rights, labour issues, and much more.

The DFM 2024 programme includes diverse voices across a variety of backgrounds and identities. To be truly Pan-African we must speak not only to those on the Continent but also to those from the diaspora and the global south. The 45th Durban International Film Festival will take place from 18 – 28 July.
This year, DIFF will showcase almost 100 films, all premieres in this region. Screenings will take place at Nu Metro Pavilion, Ster Kinekor Gateway and Suncoast CineCentre. DIFF is your gateway to global cinematic gems that enrich audiences.
